What is Invisalign?
Invisalign are invisible thermoplastic aligners that are custom-made, as they are designed to make your teeth move progressively.
How does it work?
The entire treatment actually consists of wearing a series of Invisalign aligners, with each aligner specifically designed to make slight adjustments to your current teeth alignment. Each aligner is to be worn for about two weeks, meaning after these two weeks, you will start wearing the next aligners, and so on and so forth.
How long is the treatment?
Although the length of time necessary for the treatment varies from one person to another, the average treatment takes around 12 months for adults. For best results, Invisalign aligners should be worn for 20 to 22 hours per day. They should only be taken off for eating and drinking.
What are the advantages of Invisalign?
Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign aligners are invisible and removable. They also do not cause irritation or injuries to your mouth, as traditional braces have metal wires that may poke the back in your mouth.
